So after that slightly big “update” sort of thing for my site, I guess I’m finally enjoying summer! If you guys saw my tweets on Twitter, on Friday I went to this bonfire for my Vietnamese class. To be honest, I didn’t have that much fun with the whole group, but only with 2 of my friends. We rented a bike and biked to the pier which was, I believe, 1 and a half miles away? somewhere around there. We had to get there, take pictures, and bike back all within an hour because the bike rental was $20 an hour. :( So expensive.
Today I went movie hopping! And this time it was a lot more successful than the last attempt. I watched 3 and a half movies. :) Let’s see if I can give a short review about each movie without spoiling any parts:
The Proposal: I loved this movie! I hardly say that about any American movies, but I really liked it. I mean, the casting was near perfect. Sandra Bullock definitely fit the role. I mean, the way she dressed and the way they made her put her hair — she had a really good image as a witchy boss. :P If you’re into romantic comedies, you should definitely see this movie. I mean, it had me cracking up half the time and half the time I was almost crying (but I cry easily when it comes to sad parts in movies). The ending was good, though. I don’t think I could’ve thought of a different ending, that’s for sure.
Imagine That: For some reason, I expected a bit more from this movie. It’s pretty much a family movie, though. You can’t go wrong watching this movie as a family — but try a family with like 7-10 year olds. :D It’s definitely good, then. I thought the names for certain “characters” were odd, but it definitely sounds like something a kid with a big imagination would come up with.
Up!: I only saw the ending hour of this movie since it was the movie that my friend and I used to fill up an extra hour we had between movies, but it was so good. I’m definitely going to rewatch the movie from the very beginning any chance I get. :) I don’t get the full storyline though, since I pretty much watched it from the halfway point.. but if I liked the ending, I sure as heck probably will like the beginning half. :D
Angels and Demons: I missed the first 5 or 10 minutes of this movie since I was outside getting more candy, but the rest of it was really interesting. I guess it may be because I’m interested in the whole “mini-mystery”/chase sort of thing. It was really good at some parts and I don’t think any parts were dull. It does get quite graphic in some of the scenes, though :P maybe I’m just not the type of person for those gory films so I think everything that involves blood and dead people is quite graphic. If you’re into those adventurous chase films, watch this! I can’t guarantee you’ll think it’s great, but I can almost be 100% sure you’ll think it’s decent and worth at least half your money. :)
